The Wog and The Doodle had the chance to "march" in the local parade in support of the MWV Children's Museum. We had a blast! The Wog and I bedecked our bikes, cars, helmets, etc. and were on our way!

The Wog and Elizabeth gearing up at the starting line!

The Doodle's car has only one speed so they ended up out ahead of the Children's Museum banner.

Still going:

Then The Wog eats The Doodle's dust:

A man with a mission!

A Wog on her way:

Can you see The Doodle rounding the corner way up ahead?

Happy Children's Museum lovers!

Don't mess with this guy:

The Wog's father's favorite float!

Pretty Polly and her poufs:

The Wog was delighted to see Miss MWV go by!

The Wog rode her bike the entire parade without complaint (well, complaining only when she ran out of candy to throw) but she hitched a ride afterwards with her brother.

Happy girl, sucking on a jawbreaker, after her job as candy distributor was done:

Look of concern caused by loud firetrucks. He doesn't know whether to love or hate them.

Post-parade: hot, tired and happy!

We had so much fun. Happy 4th of July!

...Is a box of baby ballerinas!

These beautiful pictures of The Wog and her dance friends were taken by Jay Philbrick, the photographer who took one of our absolute most favorite pictures of The Wog when she was a baby.

She still is enchanted by bubbles. I think/hope she probably always will be.

The Doodle enjoyed a zip on Lori and Brian's zipline!

All that zipping around makes a boy hungry!

Waiting patiently for her ballet dance backstage:

The "Thanks" girls practice arabesques before heading into the wings:

With Minnie before the show:

And with Daddy after the show:

And with all of her teachers!

The Wog and The Doodle participated in a family bike-a-thon this weekend in support of raising funds and building awareness for a local bike path project here in the MWV. (Awesome, right? Fingers crossed!) The organization set up an obstacle course and had information bike safety, gear, etc. There was also a bike decorating table, a parade led by a cycling police officer, and an ice cream social.

The Wog gets a hand onto the course from Daddy and Una:

As usual, The Doodle meant business.

(He was the only kid on a trike, and so intense about the whole thing that he became something of a celebrity--everyone wanted his picture!)

Bike safety is SERIOUS!

Going their various ways:

The ramps were not particular tricycle accessible, but it didn't stop The Doodle from trying. His pal Cooper one plank over had it down on his Strider.

The Doodle waits patiently at the parade's starting line:

And there's The Wog!

Wog on the go!

The Wog and Finn B. AKA Boyfriend #1:

The Doodle valiantly held up the back of the back. Occasionally the riders would circle around and "lap" him. He'd calmly turn himself around and resume a place at the front of the line:

Cooling off with ice cream:

Making trades:

Then taking a break with Daddy:

Heading home, post-parade, happy, and full of ice cream!

A 3-year-old and his trains:

Marc yelled, "Pizza is here!" and The Doodle took off! He was moving so fast I'm surprised the camera didn't capture a grey blur. Baby Andrew was hot on his heels!

They all settled into eating quickly.

The Doodle and his partner in crime/cuteness, Dylan, having fun spoon-fencing:

Phoebe and The Doodle played with this for a solid 20 minutes:

Three-year-olds are CUTE:

The Doodle opened his presents like a pro. He was genuinely delighted by each one and said an enthusiastic "thank you." And every time he was surprised to be getting another!

Happy Birthday to our funny, sweet, charming and VID--Very Important Doodle!
